"EPIC Employment Lismore have worked closely with the NSW Deaf Society for the past 5 years. During that time we have been able to jointly assist people with hearing impairment into employment and provide support post placement. We will continue to work closely with the Society to enable better outcomes for their members."

"The Rail Neighbourhood Association Incorporated entered into a partnership with the Deaf Society NSW to have a Community Development Worker based at the APR Neighbourhood Centre 1 day per week. The worker works 12 hours per week and caters to the needs of the Illawarra and Shoalhaven Deaf Community. Since Sara has been based at the neighbourhood centre, I have watched the service grow and demand increase. Sara is in constant demand.
Prior to this outreach office being established, people had to travel to Parramatta to access the Deaf Society NSW, quite a distance to travel for people who require resources and assistance. I am constantly amazed at the types of requests and the depth of assistance Sara provides. People requiring information, assistance booking accommodation, transport and assistance with getting quotes for smoke alarms and other security devises, information on internet scams. assistance organising social events, promotion sessions, pamper days, deaf awareness courses etc etc. Sara also undertakes lobbying on behalf of Deaf people to obtain better services, information and resources for the deaf Community. The role is a vital one as it links people, provides information and valuable resources to those who would otherwise be left out of the loop. Sara does a fantastic job and we believe that the demand requires a full time position. If you require any further information please contact The Rail Neighbourhood Association Inc. on 42564404."
