| Video Remote Interpreting |
| |
Sign Language Communications NSW (SLC NSW) offers remote interpreting via both Video conferencing and D-Link technology. |
Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) can be used for situations where an on-site interpreter is not available and can be particularly useful for deaf people living in regional or remote areas who cannot readily access interpreters. |
| |
Advantages of using Video Remote Interpreting are that SLC NSW can provide an on-demand service in most instances and there is a lower minimum charge time than for on-site interpreters.
To access Video Remote Interpreting clients will require: |
- Television
- Video conferencing equipment (e.g Tandberg, Polycom)
- Minimum speed required: 384kbps (= 3 lines x 2 64kbps)
| |
- Television
- High speed broadband connection (over 400k for both upload and download streams)
- D-Link - DVC-1000
- Open Ports (1720, 15328, 15329, 15330, 15331, 15332, 15333) for configuration of the ADSL modem
