Do you need a lawyer? Maybe you can't use Legal Aid because you don't meet their requirements. If you are looking for a lawyer you can contact the Law Society of NSW. They can put you in contact with lawyers who have the right qualifications and expertise in the area of law that you are looking for. You will need to pay for any work the lawyer does for you.

If you can't afford a lawyer the Law Society has what is called the "pro bono scheme". This means they have a list of lawyers who will work for a lower fee and sometimes for no fee. They have rules about who can and who can't get help. If you want to find out more, contact the Law Society of NSW:
