There are two types; flashing light alarms and vibrating alarms. There is a transmitter/microphone that is put near the baby and the parents keep the flashing light alarm or vibrating alarm with them.

Alarm Clocks
There are two types. One is a clock with a flashing light attached. The vibrating alarm clock is the same but has a vibrating pad instead of the flashing light. There is a portable vibrating alarm clock available.

Door Bells
There are doorbells with an amplifier, which makes the doorbell ring louder for people who are Hard of Hearing. There are also flashing light doorbell alerts in a range of models and light strengths which suit different style dwellings and rooms.

Audio Loop Systems
Loop systems work with hearing aids and directly feed sound/dialogue to the hearing aid via the "T" switch function on the aid. There are a number of different loop systems to suit different environments. Loop systems range from permanently installed systems to small devices for household use to portable mats for meetings and small rooms.

Smoke Alarms
Visual alert (strobe) smoke detectors are available. They send out warning signals by flashing a light to indicate there is smoke in the room.
