Sign'N'Tots is an Auslan Playgroup run by the Ephpheta Centre with the support of the Deaf Society .
The playgroup is for:
- deaf children 0-5 or school age
- hearing children of Deaf adults (CODAs)
- Deaf Mums, Dads and Grandparents
- hearing Mums, Dads and Grandparents of deaf children
The playgroup is a point of contact and information for parents, and provides structured age-appropriate activities in a bilingual (Auslan/English) environment.
Everyone who comes has the chance to see and use Auslan and join in activities that suit deaf and hearing children in a natural and relaxed atmosphere.
Hearing parents have the rare opportunity to have contact with Deaf adults, with the common ground of being parents. The group is accessible to both Deaf and hearing parents and is culturally sensitive.
Sign'N'Tots happens once a month. To find out what information for parents will be discussed, click here.
