Services

The Deaf Society Employment Service is the only specialist employment service in NSW for people who are Deaf and hard of hearing. It is part-funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).

The Employment Service provides:

  • job search assistance for people who are deaf and hard of hearing 
  • support to people who are deaf and hard of hearing after placement in a job
  • support and guidance to employers who are considering employing a person who is Deaf or hard of hearing

The Deaf Society Employment Service delivers Disability Employment Services programs under the DEEWR Disability Open Employment category of Employment Support Service. This category provides assistance to job seekers who will need regular long-term support to maintain their job.
