Privacy and confidentiality for clients  

The Deaf Society of NSW is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of our clients.

All clients must follow the Deaf Society Employment Service's Privacy and Confidentiality Agreement. To download a copy of the agreement, click here.

All information collected by the Employment Service is protected by this agreement, which is signed by clients and endorsed by the Deaf Society's Employment Officers as a commitment to keep all information confidential.

In order to provide employment services, the Employment Service must share clients' details with Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Client details may then be disclosed to other government departments and agencies. DEEWR has strict policies which guarantee information protection.

 

If you are worried about how your personal information is being managed by DEEWR, other government departments or the Deaf Society Employment Service, you can discuss your concerns with the Deaf Society Employment Service

Then if you are not satisfied, you can also contact the Deaf Society's Director of Services.

If you are still not happy with the solution they give you, you can take your concerns to the Office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner.
