What Our Clients Think: Employment Service |
"The Deaf Society of NSW and especially the Employment Service have been extremely helpful to our Organisation in providing us with Hearing impaired workers which we have trained up to assist with our Hearing impaired and deaf/blind clients these clients now have a care worker they can communicate with, which is very pleasing for us and for them, they also provide service to our Hearing Clients which we have had a lot of positive feedback from as the clients have come up with many different styles of communication with there new hearing impaired care workers.
The Employment Service was there from the beginning with our search for Hearing Impaired Care workers with interpreters provided for interviews and all our training sessions. The Employment Service co coordinator, David McQuiggin, has provided ongoing support to our Organisation with assistance such as Deaf Awareness training which has been very beneficial to our team and all the answers to any questions or queries that we have regarding our new Hearing Impaired Care workers.
It has been a new and very rewarding learning experience working with the hearing impaired care workers and thankyou to the Deaf Society of NSW for all there support."

"The Deaf Society of NSW is the best service I have experienced to date and I am extremely happy with the service I received during my dark days of searching for employment for far too long. I had constant high quality of support and a big commendation goes to the Employment Services staff. I highly recommend the Deaf Society of NSW to any deaf/hard of hearing persons and you won’t be disappointed.
A big thankyou especially to Rebekah who has always held confidence in getting a career job for me and I am extremely grateful for that!"

"The Deaf Society Employment Service is a friendly environment. It’s easy to understand them because they have proper Auslan. They helped me a lot; researching for a job, providing training on how to improve CV writing and preparing for interviews.
I couldn’t find the kind of job that I was looking for so they supported me to find an alternative job which I can do. They provided great service; Deaf awareness [for the employer and workplace]; equipment (for example, TTY), and booked interpreters for short meetings.
I found the job advertisement through a Deaf friend. The Deaf Society Employment Service quickly helped me to prepare for the interview. Everything went well and I finally got an IT helpdesk contract three years ago.
They still continue to support me, booking interpreters for meetings and fortnightly asking me if everything is fine.
This year my position changed to permanent and I was so happy. So I would like to say thumbs up for the Deaf Society Employment Service."
