Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer are ways of recognising your previous experience.

RPL (also known as Recognition of Current Competence – RCC) is where a student can gain accreditation for non-accredited (non-award) studies completed and/or life and work experiencesis recognition of informal study or life experience that has given you skills that match the required standard for your chosen course.

These experiences and knowledge are assessed to provide evidence of competence in a certain module / course. RPL is a method of assessment that enables candidates to gain recognition for what they can already do. The RPL process will require you to present documentation of studies and experiences and evidence of current skills. You will have to complete a language assessment task and provide written evidence of competence and understanding of all non-language modules (such as Auslan Linguistics and Deaf Studies). The fee for the RPL service is available upon request; it is non-refundable and is to be paid when you apply for RPL

Credit Transfer may be possible if you have formal qualifications from other institutions that link with your chosen course.

For more information about, and costs relating to, RPL and Credit Transfer, contact the Supervisor of Accredited Auslan Courses to make an appointment.
