Communication is the foundation of human experience. We all need to express our needs, our wants, to understand others and to develop relationships. However for communication to be effective, we must share a common language.
For many Deaf people, the most frustrating thing is NOT being unable to hear, it is the difficulty in communicating with the general community.
The Deaf Society of NSW is the major welfare organisation providing support services to the members of the Deaf Community across NSW.
Our unique and practical programs and services assist people who are Deaf or hard of hearing towards realising their full potential. We are recognised for excellence in the provision of:
- Sign Language Interpreting
- Community Access and Information Service
- Family Support
- Education and Training
- Independent Living Skills
- Employment Services
- Advocacy
- Outreach and Community Development
- Regional Services
You can help the Deaf Society to continue providing these life-important services by making a donation or a bequest. |
