The Deaf Society of New South Wales is committed to making sure that all activities are conducted in line with the National Privacy Principles and the Privacy Act (2000). The Privacy guidelines used by the Deaf Society are based on this legislation.

The Privacy Policy has been tailored to the main groups of people that the Deaf Society has contact with. These are:

• supporters / interested parties
• clients
• customers
• grant recipients
• students

In addition to the policy there are a number of other resources that are used to ensure the privacy of all people who contact DSNSW.

These are:

• privacy statement - plain English
• permission to obtain / release information form

The guidelines for use of these resources is outlined in the policies and procedures of individual services / programs.
